Over the last 12 years we have seen tremendous development in Gig Harbor North and the Westside.  New commercial and institutional uses including Albertson’s, Target, Home Depot, Costco, the YMCA, and St. Anthony Hospital have become a regional draw.  On the Westside - the new Uptown Shopping Center, the Pt. Fosdick Center, and a new Fred Meyers will continue to modernize the City.

While new residential and commercial developments are a tremendous asset, it is the unique historic character, our spectacular mountain views, and beautiful bay in the View Basin that many think of when they hear our name: Gig Harbor.

If we agree that our history, maritime character, and natural beauty define this community...  then protecting these assets for future generations is critical.

When larger commercial structures threaten to change the scale and character of the downtown, something's wrong.
