Gig Harbor is special. Those who grew up here, stay. People who leave, come back. And people who visit, return. It’s because of who we are.
But the surge of uncontrolled new development is threatening the very character of the View Basin. Traffic congestion, the push for out-of-scale development, and proposals that dedicate our waterfront to seasonal visitors threaten to degrade our maritime heritage and the quality of life in the View Basin.
People who live, work, and support the downtown and historic waterfront want a voice that will help guide how Gig Harbor develops in the next 5, 10, and 20 years.
With no clear understanding of where we are headed, there will be no predictable outcome.
This open forum is to begin constructive dialogues that can maintain our unique character, refine our growth objectives, and develop new solutions that improve the livability of our community.
It is in this spirit that we invite you to join the 4GIGHARBOR forum.
